It's an exciting Saturday night here in White Hotville. Pandora radio on in the background. Giggly eight year old girls watching Ramona and Beezus on the big screen tv in surround sound eating their dinner of corn dogs, tater tots, cinnamon and sugar toasted tortilla chips with fruit salsa, and raspberry and banana pink smoothies. Def Leppard rocks even with a one armed drummer! I'm sitting tired on 23 hours of training so far this week. I've taken 2 showers today, no swimming, and I still smell like chlorine. Today was the most domesticated day I've had in a long time: laundry, cleaning, dinner for the girls, washed both dogs, grocery shopping, and to fulfill my triathleteness, 3.5 hours on the bike trainer (in 2 different sessions) with high powered intervals.
This week's key sessions: 24x800's on the track running
10x400's sprinting the 300 and 10 x 50 on 40s max swimming
50 x 1 min max (almost max power) with 1 min recovery alternate sitting/standing cycling
I think I've gone the whole week without speaking to an adult???
Oh, and since we last spoke, my wife has left me for a dark and handsome man on a camel. Apparently a ghastly white, freckled, Irish dude on a bike doesn't do it for her...anymore. ;-)
Ironman Texas build in full effect!

Come to Raleigh sometime if you need some adult interaction dude. And I mean that in a very gay way.
I do that stuff every day and train for the Ironman. Right now I have a local brew in hand and going for a long run in the morning.
I'm afraid my wife is going to leave me for a tall, dark, and handsome man on a camel too. Or was it just a bad dream? Seriously, when you get to training, enjoy it, and have an end goal in mind, working out is a constant in your life. Seems like you are doing well with it.
Remember you have the girls. She is over there missing you and the girls.Thinking of her will help you dig in when you train.
You know..... I have looked at that picture above so many times in the past few days and each time it brings tears to my eyes. The rols model Melissa is for Teegan is unbelievable. and the role model you are for her..... amazing. I am so honored that we all have met.
Sorry to get all sappy on you white hot. You can count on the eggers to be sporting the white hot uniforms in placid buddy.
Hi Ryan,
I just found your blog and loved the bio. I am amazed that you have done 17 and have three more planned. I raced Wisconsin in September as my first and had a great race. I ended up qualifying for Hawaii but had already signed up for Texas in the meantime with my brother. So I've got two on the agenda for this year and then we'll see what happens. I've enjoyed reading some of your blog and was wondering if I could keep your address on hand in case I have any questions or something. Hawaii twice? That's amazing. Good luck with training. If you're interested, I keep a blog as well: www.thegeigercounter.wordpress.com
Happy Training,
Claire Geiger
Do you need a hug? No? ...maybe a hotpocket?
chlorine is the new sexy... or is it compression socks?
Prayers for your wifes safety. Our son just returned from a 9 month deployment in Japan... so many doing so much to protect our beautiful country!
Cheers to continued Iron training.

I'm might be looking for a new wife.. if the camel thing works out for your Commander, give me a call...
