The FINAL race...of 2009

So this isn't the year in review where I comment on how remarkable I was in 2009; let's face it, I have almost 2 more full months to be that much more remarkable (and I am still reeling from my Hawaiian beat down). This is just a reminder that I have one more race until I take the month of December OFF from organized training in preparation to take myself to the next level in 2010.

First I would like to thank Jeremy Davis with SetUp Events for allowing me to change from the full Iron distance race to the half. A half Ironman. Melissa and I were both saying that after how awesome this year has been it is almost anti-climatic to end the year with a half...Ha! only a half. Perspective I guess.

Plans for the race? Finish so I can start drinking the lovely 12 beers I have waiting at the finish. Eat 1/3 of my body weight in medium rare beef at Ruth's Chris steakhouse the night after the race. Party with some creepy internet friends (bloggers), and streak downtown Wilmington NC sometime around 10pm.

The race itself: Sure I'm having some issues with my performance (or lack thereof) in Hawaii, so one would expect that I go flying out of the gate at B2B...right? Let's just say that Madame Pele's sting still has me reeling a little, but you can be sure that I will be pushing a big gear on the bike; I really want to end the year with a DYN-O-MITE run, and no the explosion won't be coming from the rear...smartasses!

Potential Bloggers to meet:
DreadPirate

Strong thoughts for those at Ironman Florida (my first and favorite IM) and everyone in B2B...HAVE AN AWESOME DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darn - I was going to sign up for this race but they only had community slots left when I got around to doing it. Good luck - supposed to be an awesome event!

You made a wise choice to change to the half. I hope you had a great race and I can't wait to hear all about the streaking through the streets of Wilmington!

I hope you had a good race and had fun meeting all the blog "freaks".
Aren't you going to St G? If so, you can mark off another blog freak as Arnie paid both our ways in. Now I only have to lose 15 pounds.
