Just so you know next time, if you get to mile 112 on the IMKY, you've made a wrong turn. At mile 224 or so, I (personally) may have considered that the backtrack option should have been utilized. By mile 300-400, you should contemplate using a lifeline - like 'Phoning a friend'. One could see how at mile 500 you might be tempted to use another lifeline such as to 'Eliminate two', like at a turn. But really - the better option is to simply eliminate the bike and hitchhike back.
Ok, we are dying here to hear about your IMKY train-a-thon! Help a brother out and post something of substance about your week.............. please for the love of dog! :-)
I am one of the few who have a marathon split in an Ironman that took longer than the bike; I vomited and "sharted" my way through 15 miles...total misery!
Fast Forward several successful Ironmans...
Now, I have raced myself to 28th overall in an Ironman, qualified and completed the Ford Ironman Worldchampionships (tough day)! My goal for 2010: Return to Hawaii and step on the podium! Oh, and have fun along the way. Read on and be amused/horrified/offended!
